Looking for an "Event Leader" or "Promoter" Type. Happy New Year! Well, this year I'm determined to make better than last year. My last year was damn good, but I'd like this one to be that much better. I used to live in Modesto, and it seemed like, at that point in my life, I had successfully integrated myself into a group who functioned well. There were some event leaders (idea generators), some group gatherers (promoters), some facilitators (willing to drive/cook/shop/host/etc) and some folks just along for the ride. After a brief sabbatical, I find myself back in Modesto, but without my old network of friends, many of whom have moved, gotten married (and have ), or some combination of both. So, I find myself starting from scratch again. I would firmly put myself in the "facilitator" type group role. I have no problem opening my house to have friends over, preparing food (I'm good at things involving cooking over open flame), or driving on some adventure. Nothing brings me more happiness than to be surrounded by a group of friends enjoying themselves. However, I realize my shortcomings. I'm not a great promoter, and while I have some ideas, I certainly don't have all the ideas. And so, I'm looking for a friend. Maybe we could start a relationship and it would be something special. Maybe we remain good friends and fall in love with someone else in the social circle. Who knows? Life is full of twists and turns, ups and downs... and how better to experience those than with a group of friends. About me: -I'm in for adventure. Hiking? Sure. Driving? Yep. Snowshoing? It doesn't matter if you are college educated or grew up learning the hard way. It doesn't matter if you are blue-collar, white collar or no-collar. I don't care if you vote democrat or republican, or if you're serious as a heart attack all the time or a natural jokester. It doesn't matter if you have a positive on life or are an incredible cynic.
